Leeds United's a player shields the ball from the opposition's Leny Yoro in the Premier League battle at their home ground. At a Glance Calvert-Lewin sees a early header come back off the upright. Aaronson puts the hosts ahead with a low strike in the second half. Matheus Cunha levels only three minutes afterwards. The Yorkshire side continue their longest Premier League undefeated streak since the turn of the century. Manchester United's disappointing run of form continued at Leeds' fortress, but head coach Ruben Amorim had his Brazilian forward to thank for the team avoiding even more damage against their old rivals. Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed a first-half attempt against the post for the in-form home team before the American midfielder finished superbly with a driven, 62nd-minute shot. At that stage, the United boss was in the firing line after his side had been held by struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers at home earlier in the week. However, against opponents who had less time to recover, the forward restored parity three minutes later when he latched onto a pass from substitute Joshua Zirkzee and guided a finish underneath rushing home goalkeeper Lucas Perri. It was only the Brazilian's fourth goal since his high-profile summer move and came at a time when the manager is without several key attacking players due to a mix of injury and international duty. Not that the hosts to care about that given their own lack of preparation time. Noah Okafor forced a diving save out of Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens with a spectacular overhead kick, and visiting heads were in hands when Benjamin Sesko, who is struggling to make an impact, turned Zirkzee's cut-back wide from close range. The goalscorer, who had a goal ruled out for offside much earlier in the match, also blasted against a post in the dying moments. The point prolongs the home side's unbeaten run to seven matches, their longest such streak since 2001, and takes them eight points clear of the relegation zone. For the Manchester United though, it was yet another opportunity to move into fourth spot, albeit only for a matter of hours, wasted. Manchester United Breakdown: The Manager's Side Misfire Again With the Africa Cup of Nations reaching its knockout phase, the United coach could be forgiven for hoping the participating nations make a pretty quick exit. Existing injuries to captain Bruno Fernandes and Three Lions star Mason Mount only heightened the impact the absence of other forwards is having on Amorim's squad. It's not that the missing pair are the answer to all of United's problems. After all, they were part of the side that suffered disappointing results earlier in the season. But without them, Amorim has few attacking options. He evidently does not have full faith in teenager Shea Lacey or the seasoned Joshua Zirkzee, even though the Dutch forward delivered the through ball for the equaliser almost instantly after his arrival as a replacement. That leaves Cunha, who has now scored a small tally in recent outings, and others operating out of their natural positions, alongside Benjamin Sesko. On this showing, the big-money frontman looks no better than previous struggling signings, lacking in belief and assurance in front of goal. Sesko's failure to turn home the cross means it is now nine games without a goal for the young striker. Leeds Analysis: A Further Step Towards Survival After thrilling victories in their last few home games, the arrival of their biggest rivals to home was a bit drab affair. True, there were moments of expected fervor, but the hostile edge was not as pronounced as in previous encounters. The home fans were more preoccupied about their side's struggle to get sustained possession in dangerous areas for any length of time. The Calvert-Lewin header that clipped the post was an isolated moment of quality in a congested first half. It still felt as though the hosts were finding it tough when a defensive error opened the door for the opener. For a short moment, Leeds' delirious fans thought they were about to secure a rare win against Manchester United. However, there is a much bigger picture for Daniel Farke and Leeds to deal with. When they suffered a difficult run of form earlier in the season, many thought about the manager's future. Instead, he is now overseeing significant improvement. The job is not completed yet but step by step, the team are getting closer to securing their top-flight status. What Happens Next? Leeds have a top-flight trip to Newcastle in midweek, followed by the start of their domestic cup campaign next weekend. The Red Devils face a league trip to Burnley before also beginning their cup journey with a Old Trafford tie.
